We want as many people to volunteer as possible, even if your school isn't partnering with us. Check out different ways to make a difference in a community.
Notes of Joy
Since Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day (when we deliver pillows) are holidays of greatfulness and love, we have decided to try to get at least one card for every pillow that we give to a child. That's right, we want to make these kids even happier by not only giving them a pillow, but giving them cards to show that someone is thinking of them during the holidays. We are calling these cards/letters, Notes of Joy.
All you have to do is write a letter or make a card for a kid that's going through a rough time (up to age 17). Then, print off the form below and print it out. Include this in your envelope. Afterwards, send it to us. We will give the kids your Note(s) of Joy and a pillow. Make sure your note(s) are appropriate for the age you select.
Notes of Joy containing profanity, violence, or otherwise innapropriate material will be discarded.

Make Tags
See the little pink thing on the left side of that pillow? That's a Pillows for a Cause "pillow tag". We put these on all of our pillows so the kids that get them and the organizations that we deliver the pillows to know that they came from us.
We always need "pillow tags" and they're very easy to make. All you have to do is take a piece of hot pink ribbon (about an inch wide) and fold it over. It makes a little loop that you should be able to put a finger or two through. Then, you sew the bottom edge together. That's it! These are really easy to make and are a great way to "tag" our pillows.

Collect T-Shirts
We use t-shirts to make our pillows. This, along with the fact that every pillow is handmade, ensures that every pillow is unique. If your school is partnering with us, you can help hold "t-shirt drives" to collect t-shirts and give them all to your sponsor. If your school isn't partnering with us yet, host your own "t-shirt drive". It can be through a movie night, car wash, or just having a collection box in your school. Make sure you contact us for how to get the t-shirts to us. If you are in the DFW area pickup or dropoff of the shirts may be possible. If you live farther, however, you might have to mail them. This is the first step of many to making pillows that can change the world. We need YOU to help us!
Make Pillows
If your school is working with us, you have the amazing opportunity to make pillows! We will teach you everything you need to know, from cutting fabric, to using a sewing machine, to hand sewing with a needle and thread. You'll also get to help us sort through all donations of t-shirts, which we use to make the actual pillows. It's an amzaing opportuinity to meet new people, gain lifelong skills, and have fun. Without volunteers making pillows, we wouldn't be able to make a difference in so many lives!
